Pneumatic Casters - Plate
Mount
These single wheel casters with air filled pneumatic tires are
designed for fragile heavy cargo where caster overall height is not critical.
They are best suited for shock absorption or for use outdoors over rough
surfaces. Maintaining the proper air pressure in pneumatic casters can
sometimes be a maintenance chore. Consult us for a reduced capacity rating if
casters are to be moved with mechanically powered equipment. Offered in Rigid
Pneumatic Caster and Swivel Pneumatic Caster models.

|
Casters with Super
Cushion Rubber Wheels
Resilience of a Pneumatic
without air in the tire. SUPER CUSHION rubber caster wheels provide a
cushioned ride, shock absorption and quiet operation. They can be used outdoors
on grass or dirt but are not recommended for use on gravel. They are more
resilient than pneumatics with none of the maintenance problems associated with
air filled wheels.
|
|
The Super Caster with
Self-Energizing Rubber Wheels
SELF-ENERGIZING rubber wheels require
the lowest draw bar effort ever devised in any resilient tread wheel. The
prestressed rubber tire resists flattening under load, reduces "scrubbing"
action when turning, and actually helps to roll the load. A minimum starting
effort, and an extremely small draw bar pull to maintain motion (60% less than
conventional rubber), allows one man to move loads (up to 3000 lbs.) that
before required several men. Vertical bonding (with approximately seven times
the area of conventional wheels) eliminates bond failure as a cause for wheel
replacement. The steel side discs dissipate heat so that the tire remains cool
after hours of uninterrupted operation. Sealed tapered roller bearings are
pre-adjusted in the wheel to assure they always maintain proper adjustment.

|
PREMIUM Rubber Caster
Wheels
PREMIUM rubber caster wheels have a special compound of
highly resilient soft rubber bonded to thick aluminum wheel centers. Unlike
Conventional Moldon rubber caster wheels, PREMIUM rubber caster wheels can be
moved manually when loaded to their rated capacities. Selecting PREMIUM rubber
caster wheels means you do not have to give up the benefits of a resilient
wheel (full floor and cargo protection) in order to get rollability. PREMIUM
rubber caster wheels are dependable, require little or no maintenance, and
improve efficiency in manually moved operations.
|
|
SUPER CUSHION Rubber Caster
Wheels
SUPER CUSHION rubber caster wheels have a noise absorbing and
shock isolating extra resilient soft rubber tread bonded to thick aluminum
wheel centers. They are designed for use in Hospitals, Scientific and
Electronic Laboratories, Department Stores, Hotels, TV and Movie Studios -
wherever noise and vibration should be eliminated. They are ideally suited for
moving fragile or delicate cargo. They are more resilient than pneumatics with
none of the maintenance problems associated with air filled
wheels.
|
|
Extra
Soft Rubber Caster Wheels
The extra soft rubber on these caster
wheels helps to absorb vibration and shock, thus protecting the load or cargo
while in transit. Another benefit of these extra soft rubber caster wheels is
noise reduction. These caster wheels are designed for use in Hospitals,
Electronic and Scientific Laboratories, Hotels, Department Stores, TV and Movie
Studios - wherever vibration and noise should be eliminated.
|
|
Conventional Moldon Rubber Caster
Wheels
These Conventional Moldon rubber caster wheels have soft
rubber tires molded onto iron centers. Soft rubber provides more desirable
operating characteristics than any other wheel material. It is quiet, absorbs
shock (prolonging equipment life and protecting cargo), can roll over small
objects, protects costly floor surfaces, and minimizes vibration. The
Conventional Moldon rubber caster wheel falls short of perfection in its
limitation under load - it does not roll easily.
|
|
Gray Rubber Caster
Wheels
These caster wheels have gray non-marking injection molded
rubber mechanically and chemically bonded to a polyolefin center. They are
especially suited for use in Pharmaceutical Laboratories, Hospitals, Food
Service and other Institutional applications. These caster wheels provide a
softer ride than polyurethane and yet withstand exposure to many chemicals and
solvents. They can be used in industrial applications which do not involve
shock, overloading, abuse, obstructions, poor floors or storage (standing)
loads.
|
|
All Polyurethane (Solid Poly)
Caster Wheels
These solid all polyurethane caster wheels are non
marking and non conductive. The absence of a metal center eliminates bond
failure as a cause for wheel replacement. These caster wheels are especially
suited for use with stainless steel casters in wet and corrosive applications.
They are designed for use in Pharmaceutical Laboratories, Hospitals, and Food
Processing Plants - wherever a clean sanitary design is desired. These wheels
are not recommended for applications involving shock, overloading, abuse,
obstructions, poor floors, or for storage (standing) loads. Hardness is 70 - 75
Durometer, Shore D. Temperature range is -20° to 180° F. Standard color
is Blue.
|
|
Polyurethane Caster Wheels with
Iron Centers
Polyurethane is superior to rubber in resistance to
grease, oil, cutting, chunking, and abrasive wear. These caster wheels can be
used on almost any dry factory floor. As with moldon rubber, the bonding agent
which holds the polyurethane tire to its iron center can be affected by
exposure to some chemicals, impact, overloading, and the buildup of heat. Tire
hardness is 90 to 95 Durometer, Shore A. Temperature range is -20° to
180° F. The principle benefit of a polyurethane wheel over the same size
rubber wheel is increased capacity. Given the same size load on a smooth floor,
a polyurethane caster wheel rolls easier than the same size conventional rubber
caster wheel.
|
|
Polyurethane
Crown Tread Caster Wheels with Aluminum Centers (PCA)
These
non-marking wheels are easy rolling and can be used on both hard floors and
carpet. The crown shape of the tread allows the wheel to roll on carpet without
bunching up the carpet in front of its path. When used in a swivel caster, it
also enables the swivel to rotate easier than with flat tread wheels. The Extra
Large Sealed Precision Ball Bearings in these wheels are maintenance free and
prevent grease from coming in contact with floors. All of these features, taken
together, make these wheels the most cost effective over the long run.
|
|
Polyurethane Caster Wheels
with Polyolefin Centers
These caster wheels are non marking
injection molded polyurethane tires mechanically and chemically bonded to a
polyolefin center. They are especially suited for use in Research Laboratories,
Hospitals, Food Service, Schools, Bakeries and other Institutional
applications. These caster wheels are easier rolling than Gray Rubber on smooth
floors. They withstand exposure to many chemicals and solvents. They can be
used in industrial applications which do not involve shock, overloading, abuse,
obstructions, poor floors or storage ( standing ) loads.

|
Phenolic Caster
Wheels
Phenolic caster wheels are made from heavy weave canvas duck,
impregnated with phenolic resin, and molded under high pressure and
temperature. Its hardness is comparable to polished maple flooring. Phenolic
caster wheels are recommended for smooth concrete or wood floors, and can be
used for storage (standing) loads without permanent set. These caster wheels
are highly resistant to oil, grease, water, mild acids, and animal fat. They
are affected in various degrees by strong acids and some alkaline solutions.
Temperature range is -20° to +250° F, with intermittent use up to
300° F. Phenolic caster wheels will carry loads as great as the same size
iron wheel. The wheel material may chip or cut from contact with steel plate or
from rolling over steel parts on the floor. The wheel tread may show wear from
repeated travel over rough surfaces. Phenolic caster wheels are best for loads
beyond the capacity of the same size rubber wheel. Floor wear is slight except
where floors are already starting to deteriorate.
|
|
Polyolefin Caster
Wheels
These polyolefin caster wheels are especially suited for use
in wet and corrosive applications. They are injection molded from a blend of
thermoplastic polymers, forming a one piece solid sanitary design. Temperature
range 30° to +180° F. In a cold dry environment, such as in a
refrigerated storeroom, polyolefin may become brittle. Caster wheels are
standard with a plain bore, Delrin bearing, or a Roller bearing. Polyolefin is
very resistant to many commonly encountered liquids.
|
|
High Temperature Caster
Wheels
A new high temperature special material designed specifically
for autoclaves, sterilizers, bakery ovens, and other high temperature
applications. These solid black caster wheels come only with a hard surface
tread designed for high capacity and easy rolling on smooth floors. Temperature
rating: 450° F continuous. The solid wheel design eliminates tire
separation as a cause for wheel replacement. These caster wheels are not
brittle like high temperature fiberglass wheels, and are more resistant to
damage from impact. They have zero maintenance plain bores, designed to rotate
on a stainless steel spanner bushing. Stainless bushings must be ordered
separately.
|
|
Gray Iron (Semi-Steel)
Caster Wheels
These iron caster wheels provide high capacity and are
less expensive than forged steel caster wheels. They are practical for use on
wood block or hardened smooth concrete. On untreated concrete they tend to
cause rapid floor deterioration. Although the treads are machined smooth to
minimize floor wear, iron caster wheels are not recommended where floor or
cargo protection is needed. Gray iron is a tough, long wearing material, but it
does not have the impact strength of ductile or forged steel. These caster
wheels withstand shock and impact in all but the most severe
applications.
|
|
Ductile Steel & Forged
Steel Caster Wheels
Where loads are too heavy for floor protective
wheels, or where unusually severe service factors are present, forged steel
& Ductile steel caster wheels will do the job. Usually in these
applications the user will not consider floor wear as too great a penalty
considering the work that is being done. Forged steel caster wheels will damage
most factory floors, and thus are generally used on steel plate, in channel, or
as V-groove wheels rolling on angle iron track. Forged steel & Ductile
steel caster wheels have high ductility and tensile strength, and thus can
absorb shock or impact without failure. These solid (spokeless) wheels are
unbreakable in normal service. Their load ratings are limited by bearing
capacity only.
|
|
All
Stainless Steel Caster Wheels (SS)
Solid Stainless Steel with
Stainless Steel Roller Bearings. Capacity up to 1500 lbs. per wheel. Available
in 4" x 2" and 6" x 2" Sizes.
|
|
V-Groove Caster
Wheels
V-groove caster wheels are designed to guide equipment by
rolling on inverted angle iron track. Elevated track minimizes problems caused
by floor debris. The relief groove at the base of the "V" equalizes the load on
each face of the angle. Forged Steel V-groove caster wheels minimize wear of
the V-groove sides and are best for frequent operation. When not operating on
track, the considerable wheel tread on each side of the V-groove allows for use
on smooth floors. It is important that if more than one track is used they are
parallel, straight and level. Otherwise V-groove wheels may bind or run up over
the track.
