Caster Model 4A - Plate Mount |

Caster Model 4A is intended
for use in institutional applications of up to 1,200 Lbs on a set of four
casters. These casters are a slightly heavier version of our
Model 3 shown on this page.
As with all lighter duty casters the steel swivel and rigid frames are
not designed to withstand shock loads, impact or abuse. If your application
involves that type of environment select from our broad selection of industrial
casters starting with Model 9
rated for 900 Lbs per caster. Model 4A,
Model 3 and
K3 are stampings. They are
designed for intermittent usage only on manually moved equipment. In production
applications where equipment is moved about frequently in less than an ideal
operating environment select from one of our many industrial casters.
Features:
- Swivel frames have double ball bearing hardened
raceways for longer service.
- A slightly stronger caster frame than Model 3 but
with the same small mounting plate.
- Larger wheels, all 2" wide, provide increased
capacity and stability.
- Precision Sealed Ball Bearings in all wheels for
easier rolling.

You
should never select on the basis of load capacity alone. There is no industry
standard for load capacity ratings and they may not include a factor for abuse.
Our capacity ratings are below what the casters are capable of carrying because
most applications have less than perfect conditions. Please refer to the
information shown at the bottom of this page. If you have any doubt as to which
wheel or caster is the BEST choice for your application contact us for a

 Use the Polyolefin (
Industrial Plastic ) wheel for "Standing Loads". Polyolefin wheels eliminate
the possiblilty of a flat spot developing if the castered equipment is left
parked for a prolong period. |
 You should never
select on the basis of load capacity alone. Capacity ratings do not take into
account the effort required to manually move a load. Capacity ratings are based
on manual operation under ideal conditions. These casters are not to be moved
by mechanically powered equipment.
