The blue tire
(tread) on the Road Case Caster wheel is a flexible elastomer. What makes this
elastomer special is its ability to bounce. Resilience in a wheel material is a
necessary feature in order to protect the cargo being moved. The tire on this
wheel is a resilient synthetic elastic rubber. It provides the performance of a
cushion ride without the expense associated with a tire made using natural
rubber. The tire is chemically bonded to a heavy duty impact resistant
industrial grade polyolefin core (center).
The Road Case Caster wheel
got its name because it was specifically designed to withstand the kind of
conditions road cases are typically exposed to. It will roll over cords,
thresholds, up and down ramps, over uneven surfaces such as asphalt and truck
ramps, and other obstructions. This wheel is also great for other applications
such as to move lighting fixtures, computers, and audio visual equipment. It is
the 4" diameter wheel of choice for many applications in Scientific and
Electronic Laboratories, TV and Movie Studios, Hospitals, Hotels, and
Department Stores. The Road Case Caster wheel is ideally suited to move fragile
or delicate cargo, and wherever noise and vibration should be reduced.
We install the Road Case Caster wheel in zinc plated corrosion
resistant steel caster frames with a choice of 3 different mounting plate
sizes. The swivel caster frames shown with a metric mounting plate have a seal
on the swivel bearing. The other caster frames have the swivel protected by a
metal cover. The swivel section under the mounting plates consist of two rows
of ball bearings for easy rotation. Two types of brakes are optional. The Total
Lock brake locks the swivel and the wheel simultaneously. The casters with the
brake pedal on the side of the wheel lock only the wheel.
